Information for High School Teachers
We encourage you to include lessons and projects on resource-sensitive design in your classes and clubs, and encourage your students to submit their projects. We will post a lesson plan [this will be available in January] and suggested project that you can use with your class. Your students can come and present at the Design Fair with this project, or any other class or club project you choose to do that fits the theme.
You are also welcome to have your students participate in a Partner workshop, or invite one of our Partners into your classroom to talk about resource-sensitivity and design. Please feel free to use the following lesson plan provided by Geering Up:
Workshop – Water Filtration System
Information for Design Faculty
We hope that you will include engineering design projects on resource-sensitive design in your courses, and encourage your students to submit their projects to the Design Fair. If you wish to adjudicate projects within your course and invite selected students or teams to participate in the Design Expo instead, you can contact the organizers to become a Partner.
If you are a student design team advisor, please encourage your team to participate in the Design Fair.
Information for Design Teams, Clubs, and Course Projects
We encourage student design teams (within or outside courses) and clubs to self-organize and participate in the Design Fair. You can take a project you are already working on that fits the themes and present it at ICED 17, including those for courses like capstone design. You will have the opportunity to meet and speak with international experts about your design, and get experience presenting your work professionally.
